PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To further improve quality and manufacturing yield of a light emitting device.

SOLUTION: A light emitting device includes: a housing; a light emitting element provided in the housing; a first phosphor layer provided on the light emitting element and having a first phosphor, and a second phosphor layer provided on the first phosphor layer and having a second phosphor. The luminous efficiency of the first phosphor is higher than the luminous efficiency of the second phosphor. Total weight of the first phosphor contained in the first phosphor layer and total weight of the second phosphor contained in the second phosphor layer are respectively adjusted based on wavelength and strength of light emitted from the light emitting element.
