PURPOSE: An image file creating apparatus and method thereof are provided to reduce data editing time by additionally writing metadata at an MXF(Material Exchange Format) file. CONSTITUTION: An encoder(11) writes pressed image data from an image stream. A meta data acquisition unit(13) acquires metadata related to the image data. A file writing unit(14) creates an MXF type file. The MXF type file includes a meta data unit including an additional writing area and a metadata recording area. A data memorizing unit(16) records the created MXF type file. |
