<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multilevel inverter in which at least one of the number of switching elements, the number of diodes and the number of floating power supplies is reduced compared to a conventional multilevel inverter. <P>SOLUTION: A multilevel inverter 1 includes inverter arms 6000 and 6001. The inverter arm 6000 includes a second switching element group which is installed between a maximum potential point and a minimum potential point and to which switching elements 611a to 614a to which diodes 611b to 614b are connected in reverse parallel are connected in series. Diodes 621 are arranged for respective power supply connection points and diodes 622 are installed for respective power supply connection points. A connection point where the number of switching elements installed with the maximum potential point and the number of switching elements installed with the minimum potential point become the same in connection points of the switching elements included in the second switching element group is connected to a U phase output terminal 606. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
