PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method capable of reducing a burden of a delivery system that delivers a firmware.

SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus 131 performs pre-confirmation to a delivery server 133 and determines whether or not the delivery server 133 has a firmware having a version newer than that of a firmware adapted in the image forming apparatus 131 on the basis of the result of the pre-confirmation returned from the delivery server 133. In a case where the delivery server 133 has the firmware having the version newer than that of the firmware adapted to the image forming apparatus 131, the image forming apparatus 131 makes a request of confirmation of an adaptable firmware to the delivery server 133 and performs downloading of a firmware which is returned from the delivery server 133 as the result of the confirmation of an adaptable firmware.
