LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY DEVICE

摘要

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a fabrication yield of a liquid crystal display device by suppressing generation of a foreign substance from a substrate side where a color filter is formed.

SOLUTION: A liquid crystal display device is provided with a liquid crystal display panel comprising: a first substrate; a second substrate; a seal member arranged between the first substrate and the second substrate to adhere the first substrate and the second substrate; and a liquid crystal layer encapsulated and sealed in a region enclosed by the seal member between the first substrate and the second substrate. The second substrate has a color filter and a protection membrane covering the color film on a surface of the liquid crystal layer side of the second substrate. An edge of the protection membrane is positioned inside the edge of the second substrate and between two side surfaces (an outer wall surface and an inner wall surface) positioned at mutually opposite sides of the seal member.
