PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a carrier having an excellent toner spent property and abrasion resistance (chipping and peeling) of a coating, a developer having the carrier, a container including the developer, and an image forming method and a process cartridge using the developer.

SOLUTION: A carrier for an electrostatic latent image developer formed of magnetized core material particles and a resin layer that coats the surface of the particles. The resin layer is formed by condensing and cross-linking an acrylate-based resin having a siloxane bond and an acrylate-based resin having a silanol group or a precursor functional group capable of forming the silanol group with an organic aluminum catalyst.
