<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultrasonic transducer for transmitting or receiving ultrasonic waves, which can make reverberation characteristics better than ever. <P>SOLUTION: An ultrasonic transducer includes a bottomed cylinder-like case with a closed main-axis-direction end, a piezoelectric element bonded to the inner bottom center of the case, and a molded article disposed in the case in the state of facing the piezoelectric element. The molded article has many projections and depressions formed on one main surface facing the piezoelectric element.
