<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image recording device and method capable of obtaining excellent read images even when recorded images are read during acceleration or deceleration of paper sheets. <P>SOLUTION: After recording images in a print part 50 to a traveling web 2, the recorded images are read by a scanner 74. For the images read by the scanner 74, since a blur state is changed by the carrying speed of the web 2 during read, the images read by the scanner 74 are corrected so as to correct the variation of the blur state by using a prescribed correction function set corresponding to the carrying speed of the web 2 during the read.
