<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polarizing film for a liquid crystal display which has good heat resistance, reduces in change in color and is particularly suitable for outdoor use. <P>SOLUTION: A method for producing a polarizing film includes the steps of: preparing a polyvinyl alcohol film having a b-value (A) of 2 or less at a film thickness of 0.1 mm by using polyvinyl alcohol chips that contain sodium acetate of 50 ppm or less and have a YI value of 8.2 or lower; and subjecting the polyvinyl alcohol film to dyeing, uniaxial stretching and fixing, and then drying. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
