<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic EL display device in which a display having front surface brightness (light emission efficiency) increased by improving light use efficiency or a display having a wide view angle can be selected according to user scene, and also to provide an organic EL display device which has high front surface brightness and of which the high contrast display is possible. <P>SOLUTION: In the organic EL display device, organic EL elements 171, 172 are provided for every pixel, the respective light emission periods are controlled by TFTs 1641, 1642 for light emission period control, and electric charges are erased which are charged in a retention volume 15 as a gradation display signal of the previous frame via an erasing TFT 163 and the organic EL element 172 having low front surface brightness. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
