<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric bicycle in which a motor drive unit is mounted in the middle between the front wheel and the rear wheel of the electric bicycle so as to maintain travel safety, the loss of a force during travel is reduced to the minimum and a large shock and noise are prevented from being generated even if a recovery state is selected during travel. <P>SOLUTION: The motor drive unit 20 equipped with the electric motor 17 is mounted in the middle between the front wheel and the rear wheel. An auxiliary drive force output sprocket 19 of the motor drive unit 20 is meshed with a drive force transmission chain for transmitting a step-on force from a pedal to the rear wheel. An input/output changeover clutch 42 for changing the direction of force transmission and a damper 43 are provided in the force transmission path between a motor output shaft 17a of the motor drive unit 20 and an auxiliary drive force output shaft 41. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
