<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently execute discount processing in accordance with expiration date and time such as a best-before date, use-by date and the like. <P>SOLUTION: A commodity information processor comprises: expiration date and time reading means for detecting an expiration indicator label attached to a target commodity to be registered for sale, from an image of the target commodity which is taken by imaging means, and for reading expiration date and time showing a best-before date or a use-by date of the target commodity; time measuring means for measuring current date and time; calculation means for calculating a remaining period from the current date and time to the expiration date and time, based on the current date and time measured by the time measuring means and on the expiration date and time read by the expiration date and time reading means; and discount means for executing a discount for the target commodity in proportion to the remaining period calculated by the calculation means. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
