<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gasket having both a vibration-proof property and a sealing property, and an electric compressor using the gasket. <P>SOLUTION: The gasket 30 used in the electric compressor provided with an inverter housing portion is provided with a flat metallic core material 31 and a foamed elastic body 32 provided so as to cover both surfaces of the core material 31, and has predetermined shaped concavity and convexity 33 imparted by embossing. Sealing performance can be improved by sealing the inverter housing portion using such the gasket 30.
