<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress deterioration in gas diffusion properties of a fuel cell oxidant electrode for a long period of time. <P>SOLUTION: A fuel cell includes an electrolyte membrane 13, a fuel electrode and an oxidant electrode. The fuel electrode includes a fuel electrode catalyst layer 14 and a fuel electrode gas diffusion layer 16. The oxidant electrode includes an oxidant electrode catalyst layer 15 and an oxidant electrode gas diffusion layer 17. The oxidant electrode gas diffusion layer 17 includes a carbon paper 20 serving as a porous base material and a carbon porous layer 21 formed on a surface of the carbon paper. The carbon porous layer 21 comprising a carbon particle and a fluorine resin is formed to have a porosity of 80% or more and 90% or less and a density of 0.24 g/cm<SP POS="POST">3</SP>or more and 0.30 g/cm<SP POS="POST">3</SP>or less. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
