<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently process control information including parameters for transmission of data. <P>SOLUTION: In advanced wide band digital satellite broadcasting defined in the ARIB STD-B44 standard received by a receiver 1, TMCC information that is control information on transmission and multiplexing is attached to multiplexed data obtained by multiplexing program data of plural channels. In an extraction circuit 33, transmission mode/slot information that is some information of the entire TMCC information is extracted. Among parameters included in the transmission mode/slot information, information indicating the modulation scheme of a main transmission signal and information indicating the coding rate of inner error correction coding are used in demodulation processing by a digital demodulation circuit 12, and information indicating the number of assigned slots is used for speed adjustment in a speed adjustment buffer 14.
