<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device in which an occupant on a passenger seat can be restrained within a restraining range by an air bag when the vehicle is obliquely collided, and the air bag is miniaturized. <P>SOLUTION: The air bag device 10 for the passenger seat includes an air bag 28 which expands and develops at the front side of an instrument panel 12. The air bag 28 is configured so that, when expanded and developed, a body 30 having a pair of bulging portions 40 bulged to the rear side of the vehicle and a pair of extending portions 32 extending from the portion having the same height as an occupant's head 64 or a shoulder 66 in the bulging portions 40 to the rear of the vehicle are formed at both sides in a vehicular width direction at the end 30B of the vehicle of the rear side of the vehicle. By this configuration, even if the vehicle is obliquely collided, the head 64 of an occupant on the passenger seat can be earlier constrained from both sides of the vehicle width direction by the pair of extending portions 32.
