Appts for treating polluted effluent gases comprises a cabinet divided into seven chambers (I-VII); gas enters chamber 1 and passes successively by a meandering route to chamber VI at the top, where it is removed. Chamber VII is the collecting tank for the purified liq; the liq flows downward in counterflow to the ascending gas. Between chambers II and III, III and IV, pivoting flaps throttle the passage of air, the polluted water enters chamber IV and flows in succession down three inclined planes. The ascending gas passes through a dehumidifying filter on the perforated floor of chamber V. The liq. in chamber VII at the bottom forms a trap preventing the downward escape of gas. The effluent running down the three inclines encounters a throttled air flow which retards it and produces good contact. The cabinet may be of metal of plastics.
|
