The grid (6) has a frame (8) on which a screen (10) formed of a series of tightened cables (9) is fixed, where the cables are positioned parallel to each other. A vibrator (13) is positioned on an exciter (12), and vibrates the cables. The cables are tensioned such that excitation frequency of the vibrator corresponds to inherent frequency of one of vibration modes of the cables. An accelerometer (14) is placed on the exciter and remote from the vibrator. The cables are coated with a non-stick coating e.g. Teflon(RTM: PTFE) coating. An independent claim is also included for an assembly formed of a protection grid and a framing.
