PURPOSE: A data downloading device in a portable terminal and a method thereof are provided to enable a user to select a network for downloading data in performing a data downloading presetting function. CONSTITUTION: When a network setting of a portable terminal has been changed, a control unit(100) confirms a target downloading data through the network. A data download management unit(102) manages information of a network used for downloading data. The data download management unit downloads the data at a point in which a user setting time and the network are satisfied. A download network management unit(104) provides the information of the network to the network download management unit.
