<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control diverging and converging of articles all together by being mixed in a short section of a conveyor to allow the articles to flow efficiently and to downsize a facility for diverging and converging of the articles. <P>SOLUTION: Branch lines Ln for diverging and branch lines Ls for converging are arranged alternately on the left side of a main conveyor 1, and a storage and retrieval terminal of a stacker crane is provided between mutually adjacent branch lines Ln, Ls, thereby allowing the articles to travel between an automated warehouse, and the storage and retrieval terminal by the stacker crane so that the article may enter and leave the warehouse. A program is included by which: virtual spaces N, S for diverging and converging are alternately allocated to a virtual loading zone 9 to show the position where the article on the main conveyor 1 is to be loaded; the virtual spaces, the article to be loaded and the branch lines Ln, Ls for diverging and converging of the article are made to correspond; the virtual loading zone 9 is sent out in synchronization with the conveyance distance of the main conveyor 1, and the article is transferred to the branch line Ln, or from the branch line Ls to the main conveyor 1 when the virtual spaces N, S come to the corresponding branch lines Ln, Ls. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
