摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a phosphor comprising Eu-activated &beta;-type sialon capable of enhancing luminance of a light-emitting device such as a white LED using blue or ultraviolet light as a light source. <P>SOLUTION: This invention relates to a phosphor which includes &beta;-type sialon represented by general formula: Si<SB POS="POST">6-z</SB>Al<SB POS="POST">z</SB>O<SB POS="POST">z</SB>N<SB POS="POST">8-z</SB>containing Eu as a main component, which is the phosphor whose spin density corresponding to absorption of g=2.00&plusmn;0.02 at 25&deg;C when measured by electron spin resonance spectrum is &le;2.0&times;10<SP POS="POST">17</SP>/g. In the phosphor, preferably, a lattice constant a of &beta;-type sialon is in the range of 0.7608-0.7620 nm, a lattice constant c is in the range of 0.2908-0.2920 nm, and Eu content is in the range of 0.1-3 mass%. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT
