<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve static elimination effect of an ion generation device by making it possible to suck a large amount of external air. <P>SOLUTION: An ion generation device 10a comprises: a discharge head 18 serving as a counter electrode; and a discharge electrode 16. The ion generation device 10a generates air ions by causing corona discharge. A nozzle 14 for holding the discharge electrode 16 is mounted on a base 12 provided with an air supply passage 11. The nozzle 14 is provided with an exposure surface 24 and a tapered surface 25 from which a pointed end 16b of the discharge electrode 16 is exposed. Air guide holes 26 communicating to the air supply passage 11 are formed through the nozzle 14, and jetting ports of the air guide holes 26 are opened to the tapered surface 25. Compressed air jetted from the jetting ports is displaced along the tapered surface 25 and jetted to a space in front of the discharge electrode 16, while engulfing external air around the nozzle 14. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
