<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a start-up assist device in which start-up is more smoothly executed. <P>SOLUTION: The start-up assist device 1 includes: a turbocharger 7 which drives a compressor 6 arranged in an intake pipe 5 by means of a turbine 4 arranged in an exhaust pipe 3 of an engine 2; and a supercharger 9 which is driven by a shaft 8 of the engine 2.
