For splicing the opposed transverse edges (5, 6) of elements (2, 3) of green elastomeric sheet material, there is employed, particularly for assembling tires, an automatic splicing device (7) having a roller (51) designed to move, by virtue of an actuating device, along the splice (6) being formed, and in contact with the rear end of a number of blades (62) grouped together into a pack (61) but axially mobile in relation to one another; the aforementioned blades (62) being arranged perpendicular to, and equally-spaced along, the splice (6), with their respective front edges (67) contacting the eleastomeric sheet material for splicing, and being thrust successively against the same by the aforementioned mobile roller (51). |
