The appts. to texturise filament or multifilament yarns, where at least two channels, at an angle to the line of yarn travel deliver heated compressed air to it to form a plug to be drawn out over a cooling drum, has at least one channel positioned off centre in relation to the yarn axis. Pref.at least one channel directs the compressed air with a force component round the periphery of the yarn. The channel openings are diametrically opposed to each other, with the opening of one channel off centre in relation to the yarn circumference. A projection can be fitted into the assembly in at least one channel, to direct the air force component at the yarn circumference, or the air deflector can be an insert. ADVANTAGE - The asymetrical channel layout gathers in any broken fibriles to be bonded into the yarn structure, and so reduce further processing, by directing a compressed air force component round the circumference of the yarn.
