SEDATION AND SLEEP PROMOTER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sleep promotor and a sedative containing an extract of a fish and shellfish, and a food having sleep promoting action and sedation action.

SOLUTION: An effect of the extract of a fish and shellfish on physiological action is remarked, and the present inventors have found after an extensive study that an extract of a fish and shellfish has sleep extending action and further has sedation action, and thus have completed the invention. The sleep promotor and the sedative containing the extract of a fish and shellfish are provided. The sleep promotor and the sedative containing the extract of krill are provided. The sleep promotor and the sedative containing triglyceride or phospholipid are also provided.
