<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of suppressing leakage of noise from between a stacked main body unit and an extension unit. <P>SOLUTION: In an image forming apparatus 1, when a main body unit 3 is stacked on top of an extension unit 5, a suspended wall 27A of the main body unit, a suspended wall 29A of a cover, and standing walls 37A and 37D of the extension unit are alternately arranged. Thus, even if noise coming from an engaging position of a first gear mechanism 25 and a second gear mechanism 35 is transmitted through a gap 41A between the main body unit 3 and the extension unit 5, the noise does not travel in straight lines toward a leftmost edge and it is either blocked by the suspended wall 27A of the main body unit, the suspended wall 29A of the cover, and the standing walls 37A and 37D of the extension unit, or attenuated while it is transmitted through a winding path 43A formed between these walls. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
