<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce power consumption required for detecting whether a paper-feed cassette is opened or closed, in sleep mode. <P>SOLUTION: An image forming device includes a plurality of paper-feed cassettes each storing sheets of recording paper and opened/closed by removal/insertion. The image forming device includes: a vibration sensor that outputs a detection signal according to a vibration pattern; and an open/close detecting means that detects whether the paper-feed cassettes are opened or closed, on the basis of the detection result of the vibration sensor. The plurality of paper-feed cassettes generates vibration having different predetermined patterns when opened/closed. The open/close detecting means identifies vibrations of the plurality of paper-feed cassettes on the basis of each detection signal of the vibration sensor so as to detect each opened/closed paper-feed cassette on the basis of each vibration. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
