<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a hindrance caused by a handle for adjusting the height of a jack base for supporting a scaffold used on a building site and the like. <P>SOLUTION: A jack base 10 includes a support 16 with a threaded shaft portion 18, and a support cylinder 20 screw-coupled to the threaded shaft portion 18. A handle 26 is detachably coupled to the support cylinder 20. The support cylinder 20 is rotated by the handle 26 coupled to the support cylinder 20, and the support cylinder 20 is moved along the elongation direction of the support 16 so as to adjust height.
