<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus preventing decrease in operational efficiency such as consuming unnecessary power without inducing charging unevenness on an image carrier. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus at least includes transfer means depositing an unfixed toner image on the surface of a transfer member, fixing means heating and fixing the toner image transferred by the transfer means to the transfer member, and an exhaust duct exhausting air near the fixing means from near the fixing device. The image forming apparatus also includes charging means disposed in the exhaust duct, print condition detecting means detecting print conditions set to the image forming apparatus, and control means controlling the value of a current applied to the charging means in accordance with print conditions detected by the print condition detecting means or with environmental conditions. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
