摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the ride quality of a vehicle by adequately controlling the damping force characteristics even during the step ride-over by only a single wheel. <P>SOLUTION: When it is determined that the left sprung speed and the right sprung speed are in the same phase, it is determined that the step ride-over is executed by only single wheel on the wheel side in which the sprung speed is higher. By setting the roll FB control quantity by multiplying the roll speed by the predetermined gain, the damping force characteristic is changed to the hard side. On the other hand, in the wheel in which the sprung speed is lower, it is determined that the step ride-over is not executed, and the roll FB control quantity is not set, and the damping force characteristic is not changed to the hard side, but kept to the soft side.
