<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily capture an image of an intended photographic range by improving a degree of freedom in a camera installation location in self-timer photography. <P>SOLUTION: In a digital camera 1, when a photographing person determines a direction, adjusts a zoom, and decides the photographic range (range live-viewed at the time) with the digital camera 1 in hand, first photographic processing (temporary photography) is performed. When the photographing person installs the digital camera 1 on a proper surface (such as on a desk) after confirming a temporarily captured image and moves to a subject side to enter the photographic range, the optical zoom is moved to a wider angle side than in the temporary photography. When a self timer times up, second photographic processing (main photography) is performed and alignment between the temporarily captured image and a main captured image is performed.
