PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automated data storage library, a robot communication system, and computer program.

SOLUTION: The robot communication system includes: a robot access mechanism having an automated data storage library having a storage shelf, (a plurality of) data storage drives and a bus bar, a drive system for moving the robot access mechanism, an access mechanism interface and a bus bar relay configured so as to connect and release the bus bar; and a robot controller configured so as to operate the drive system so as to move the robot access mechanism, operate the bus bar relay so as to connect the bus bar when the robot access mechanism is stationary, and provide a communication function through the bus bar relay and the bus bar when the bus bar relay connects the bus bar.
