The invention relates to a method of teleprotection of a line carrier current electrical network, in which a guard signal is transmitted on a line (L) which propagates a digitally modulated signal (SE, SR) having a bandwidth b, the method comprising, simultaneously, a step of interrupting the guard signal and a step of transmitting, on the line, a teleprotection control signal (SC1, SC2) in response to the activation of a command (C1, C2), characterized in that guard signal consists of the digitally modulated signal (SE, SR) and the control signal lies in a frequency band (SC1, SC2) which is a fraction of the band b.
