PURPOSE: A separator is provided to have excellent affination and wettability to electrolyte without air permeability, and to have excellent heat resistance, thereby preventing thermal shrinkage. CONSTITUTION: A separator comprises a planar porous substrate, a porous thin film coating layer which is formed on at least one side of the planar porous substrate and includes crosslinked polyamide. The crosslinked polyamide is formed by the polymerization of a polyfunctional amine compound having two or more amine groups and a polyfunctional acyl halide compound consisting of an aromatic compound having two or more acyl halide groups. The planar porous substrate is a polyolefin based porous film. The thickness of the porous substrate is 5-50 micron, the size of pore is 0.01-50 micron, and the porosity is 10-95 %.
