<p>A machine for cutting logs including a support (4) for resting the log in a horizontal condition, and a vertical sawing blade (3), which can be displaced with relative motion with respect to one another for cutting the log into successive lengths, said machine being integrated with a device (8, 9, 10) for gathering the pieces cut coming from an unloading chute (7) including a drawer container (9) that can be displaced between a lowered receiving position and a raised position for tipping the pieces into a gathering container set alongside the support (4) for the log. The machine can moreover be integrated with a system for wrapping a containment web or mesh (35) around the pieces introduced into the gathering container, which in this case is constituted by a rotating and raisable annular receptacle (23).</p> |
