PURPOSE: An array substrate for a liquid crystal display device and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to effectively eliminate a remaining voltage in an alignment layer. CONSTITUTION: A pixel electrode(150) is located in a pixel area. The pixel electrode is connected to a thin film transistor. An alignment layer(160) determines initial alignment of a liquid crystal molecule. The alignment layer covers the pixel electrode. The alignment layer is connected to a ground line on a non display area.
