FIELD: medicine, pharmaceutics. ^ SUBSTANCE: declared invention refers to chemical-pharmaceutical industry and concerns an insert for treating a disorder selected from a group consisting of bacterial vaginosis, inflammatory pelvic disease, endometritis, postoperative infection following a gynecologic surgery, preterm delivery, preterm birth, urinary tract infection, recurrent urinary tract infection, upper genital tract infection, postpartum endometritis, post-hysterectomy infection, infection after miscarriage, infection after abortion, or for ensuring a greater number of successful therapeutic efforts for the purpose of artificial insemination, or for the purpose of prevention before a vaginal gynecologic surgery, which involves a non-degradable hydrogel matrix and clindamycin hydrochloride in contact with the matrix wherein the insert is suitable for intravaginal, buccal, or intrarectal use in mammals.
