<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a carrier for saccharification, which has easy operation management and control in a saccharification process, is applicable to saccharification of cellulose-based polysaccharide derived from plant-based biomass, easily isolates and purifies a monosaccharide being a product and is obtained by immobilizing a microorganism to a porous structure in a biological saccharification method having a low environmental load, a method and an apparatus for saccharification. <P>SOLUTION: The carrier for saccharification obtained by using an alkalophilic thermophilic microorganism as the microorganism and immobilizing the alkalophilic thermophilic microorganism to a porous structure that has pores of 10 μm to 2 mm and a porosity of 70-98% in which the pores are communicated so as to have a water immersion time required of ≤20 seconds is used. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
