PURPOSE: A composition containing Zingiberis Rhizoma extract is provided to inhibit growth of prostate cancer cells and to effectively treat and prevent prostate cancer. CONSTITUTION: A composition for preventing and treating prostate cancer contains organic solvent extract of Zingiberis Rhizoma as an active ingredient. The organic solvent is ethanol. The ethanol extract is prepared by extracting Zingiberis Rhizoma at 50°C for 24 hours and drying and concentrating the extract at 45°C. The composition also contains pharmaceutically acceptable carrier or diluents.
