<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which enables a developing unit to be replaced easily without scattering developer. <P>SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus 1 has a developing unit 2 on its main body in a detachable manner. The developing unit 2 includes a magnetic roller 21 for carrying developer and develops an electrostatic latent image on a photoreceptor 11. The image forming apparatus 1 also has a motor 131 for rotationally driving the magnetic roller 21 and a control section 160 for allowing the motor 131 to rotate in a first rotational direction and a second rotational direction which is reverse to the first rotational direction. The control section 160 rotates the motor 131 in the first rotational direction during image formation. When a replacement mode is selected to detach the developing unit 2 from the apparatus main body for replacement, the control section 160 rotates the motor 131 in the second rotational direction to rotate the magnetic roller 21 by a predetermined amount in the reverse direction to that during image formation. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
