<p>The purpose of the present invention is to eliminate or suppress generation of luminance unevenness in an illuminating device. A backlight device (24) relating to the present invention is provided with: a chassis (22), which has a bottom plate and a side plate (22b), and which is opened to the front surface side; a plurality of LED light sources (28), which are disposed in matrix on the front surface side of the bottom plate of the chassis (22); and a reflecting member (26), which has inserting holes (26d) having the LED light sources (28) inserted therein, respectively, and side wall portions (26b) surrounding the LED light sources (28), respectively, and which has each of the side surfaces of the side wall portions (26b) forming tilted surfaces (26a), and directs, by means of the tilted surfaces (26a), light emitted from the LED light sources (28) to the side to which the chassis (22) is opened. In a planar view of the LED light sources (28), the height of the side wall portions (26b) positioned between the LED light sources (28) adjacent to each other in the diagonal direction is more than the height of the side wall portions (26b) positioned between the LED light sources (28) adjacent to each other in the longitudinal direction or in the lateral direction.</p> |
