PURPOSE: A cooking appliance is provided to reduce power required for closing a door by compressing an elastic member when the door is opened and by restoring the elastic member when the door is closed. CONSTITUTION: A cooking appliance comprises a main body, a door, a jig, a hinge assembly, and a hinge mount(280). A cooking chamber is formed in the main body. The door selectively opens and closes the cooking chamber. The jig connects the door to the main body. The hinge assembly is formed in the door and is coupled to the jig. The hinge assembly reduces shock when the door is opened. The hinge mount is formed in one side of the door and has a mounting space where the hinge assembly is installed.
