<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manually set an optimum gap according to the thickness of a printing medium. <P>SOLUTION: The printing apparatus includes a platen roller 10, a head supporting mechanism portion 8, and a gap setting mechanism portion 12. The head supporting mechanism portion supports a printing head 4 or a guide portion 6 annexed to the printing head to be movable in a direction of the platen roller. The gap setting mechanism portion makes a position where a head surface of the printing head or the guide portion carrying the printing head coming in contact with the printing medium (printing paper 14) on the platen roller, a reference position. The printing head and the guide portion are moved from the reference position in an isolation direction from the platen roller, thereby setting a gap (gap width d) to the printing head or the guide portion. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
