<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an orthodontic wire having characteristics for securing a desirable degree of rigidity when used as an orthodontic instrument and/or for securing an appropriate spring characteristic. <P>SOLUTION: The orthodontic wire is machined to a diameter of 0.5 mm or less and is made of a Ti-based alloy containing at least two kinds selected from Mo, Sn, Sc, Nb, Ta, Hf, and Zr and the rest Ti and inevitable impurities, while not containing at least Ni. The orthodontic wire has a tensile strength of 800 MPa or more under the load of 1.5% elongation strain. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
