ELECTROMAGNETIC CASTING APPARATUS FOR SILICON INGOT

PURPOSE: An electromagnetic casting apparatus for a silicon ingot is provided to increase casting speed by arranging a leading end of a raw material introduction tube within a cooled crucible having no floor. CONSTITUTION: A silicon material(11) is put into a cooled crucible(7) having no floor through a raw material introduction tube. The silicon material dissolves with electronic induction heating from an induction coil(8) and plasma arc heating from plasma torch(13). The induction coil surrounds the cooled crucible having no floor. The plasma torch is inserted into a top part of the cooled crucible having no floor. A silicon ingot is cast while being taken down from the cooled crucible having no floor and solidified.
