<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a design method for a data glove, by which the cost of the data glove can be reduced. <P>SOLUTION: This method includes: a step 200 in which sensors are provided for all candidates of arrangement positions of sensors for a data glove and a symbol/sensor relational table showing relationship between each symbol and each sensor output is created; a step 204 in which a symbol pair/sensor relational table which shows whether or not an output of each sensor matches with each symbol pair is created from the symbol/sensor relational table; and a step 210 in which, when all different symbols can be identified by outputs of the sensors by using the symbol pair/sensor relational table (step 206), instance (U,V) of a set cover problem is created by using a set U containing as elements, symbol pairs that constitute the symbol pair/sensor relational table and a subset family V of the set U, and set cover algorithm is applied to obtain a set of the minimum symbol pairs required for identifying symbols. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
