<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus allowing a smaller temperature ripple of a overshoot or a undershoot of a heating roller which is unavoidable in an idling state and also facilitating energy saving in a fixing device by a prolonged period of a temperature fluctuation of the heating roller. <P>SOLUTION: A fixing device 3 is equipped with a heating roller 15 and a pressure roller 16; a heat source 25; a power source unit 45; a roller temperature sensor 46; and a controlling unit 47 for controlling power supplied from the power source unit 45 to the heat source 25. The controlling unit 47 supplies power to the heat source 25, alternatively with a reference voltage, a first adjustment voltage VH which is lower than the reference voltage and a second adjustment voltage VL which is lower than the first adjustment voltage VH. The controlling unit 47 alternatively applies the first adjustment voltage VH and the second adjustment voltage VL to the heat source 25 during idling, to maintain the surface temperature of the heating roller 15 at a target temperature. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
