<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect reverse peeling of a label during an initializing operation while reducing costs and simplifying the structure of a device. <P>SOLUTION: During an initializing operation, when a door opening/closing sensor or the like is turned ON (S200, S202), a sorting detection sensor or the like detects whether any envelope 98 is left in an envelope path M2 (S204). A control part executes an envelope discharging operation when an envelope is left in the envelope path M2 (S210-S214). After the end of the envelope discharging operation, a label tip detection operation is started (S208). An envelope tip detection sensor detects whether any label reverse-peeling occurs on a peeling plate during reverse carrying of the label (S216). The control part stops the label tip detection operation (reverse conveyance) and displays an error when the reverse-peeling of the label is detected (S220). When no reverse-peeling of the label is detected, a head label is conveyed to the printing position of a thermal head (S222), and a print sticking operation is started. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
