The present application relates generally to joining two parts mechanically such that movement of the two parts relative to each other is enabled. In accordance with an example embodiment of the present invention, a joint mechanism is configured to connect two apparatus portions (103, 104). The joint mechanism comprises a main arm (401 ) and a control arm (402) configured to be connected to a first apparatus portion (103) at their one pivot points (401-2, 402-2), and configured to be connected to a second apparatus portion (104) at their other pivot points (401-1, 402-1 ). The pivot points are configured to enable movable connection between the two apparatus portions, and at least one of the pivot points comprises a movable pivot point (402-2).
